Users are encouraged to use their names and
addresses in conjuction with an issue to throw their weight behind
their stance. However, they may want to "explore" the issues
anonymously first & be sure they are on the same page, so
anonymity is not prohibited. It is encouraged where it will
make the dialog more open in finding resolutions.
Keep in mind, the forum is intended for Abington
residents only, but with anonymity we have no way of controlling
that . We will rely on Abington Users to report any suspected abuse.
And if problems arise we may need to amend our policy in this
regard.
The email addresses of all users will be
passed to the person in charge of that particular issue, or if you
have used it to sign an E-Petition, or other similar use, they
will be shared as intended by the petition or vote to announce
public support. It should be anticipated that your email will
not be private.
If you have concerns about giving out your current
email address, you may prefer to use an alternative email.
These can be quickly and easily obtained at no cost to you through
Yahoo, Hotmail or another free email provider. In this manner
your anonymity will be somewhat protected, as others will not
recognize your email and you may give out your name and address when
you choose to. Eventually, in order to make a difference, you
will need to attach a name to the words. But the sharing of
ideas often gets a better start when people are allowed to tip-toe
in and find their voice.
