The Abington Citizens Network
where Abington, PA residents can share ideas and join forces to build a better community

ABOUT THIS NETWORK

WHAT DO WE ACCOMPLISH HERE?

Finding Others:  First and foremost, getting connected with others that also want to develop an issue to make this community better.  Here, at least one contact person will be named, possibly more.  Maybe a group will form from this - maybe it won't - but others will be able to find details about the issue even if one doesn't - and they may take action.

Presenting Information:  Dissemination  to interested  people, or to curious people,  of up to date information is difficult. So is a presentation of  in-depth discussions of the issues. Here, one quick link from the first page can bring details about your issue to many.  You just have to share the web link. We cannot guarantee accuracy - but can share with you as much as we think we know.  Please check the details out with the Township or your Commissioner before relying upon any info here.

Weighing-In On the Issues:
E-Committees and E-Petitions and E-Votes can be formed here to bring the power of numbers to an issue.  More info on these soon (give us a minute - we're brand new!)

Looking to the Future:  We hope to bring you posting boards where you can find the ideas of others all in one place.  And more sophisticated voting pages - where you can E-vote and have the tally automatically calculated right on the site.  But to get underway, we are happy to have one place where all can meet.  So share your ideas about how to make the site better, and we hope you find someone to network with you.

Philosophy:  The Abington Citizens Network is intended for the use of those who seek to better our communities.  It intends to facilitate the ability of each individual to disseminate vital and factual information on a topic and to find others that will form a team or network to make a difference for themselves, their families, their communities, and their world.  Strong, safe communities for a strong, safe world.

Abington Only:  The Abington Citizens Network is intended for use by Abington residents only.  Interested parties from other communities may contact someone through this site to learn about or share issue related ideas, but all electronic petitions and speaking platforms on this particular vehicle are intended for the Abington Community residents alone.  If you wish to network with another community, please look for that county or state network website under Other Networks.

All views welcome:  All views, both pro and con, may be represented on every issue.  If someone has represented the Pro - feel free to send in the other side, or vice versa.   This site has no intention of siding politically but does not exclude politically inclined opinions and ideas.  Equal representation is available for all.

Anonymity:  Experimentally we will see if it works to allow introduction by email address only  (free email addresses, separate from your personal or business address, can be obtained at Hotmail, Yahoo, Google  and by other providers).  This may allow a freer exchange of ideas first before people are comfortable enough to work together.  See our Privacy Policy for more

Knowledge is power. Stay informed to help shape your community and make a difference.

Abington Township, with John Spiegelman in charge, revamped the entire Township website at the end of 2015 and broke all the links to the information we had archived on this site for you.   In 2017, Manager Richard Manfredi arrived and assigned someone not qualified to redo the entire website again. They not only broke all archived links we had reinstated, but made everything as impossible to find as they could. Nearly all of our comments and recommedations to fix the Township website have been wholly ignored.

So we do need volunteers to work together helping the Township create a site that is functional and accessible.  We will be reinstating links as we find them....if the data is still available. So... please let us know if you find a broken link. Send us the URL of the link  and the name of the page it is on, and if we can, we'll reinstate it.
Thanks for the help.
