The main version of the budget has been made, under our
former Manager Richard Manfredi, nearly inaccessible
because everthing is behind a click. So you can't scan it
or find a page number to work together with another residence on
2026 Budget Message (which is an overview
that they actually labeled the " Letter of Transmittal "
so no one would know what it was )
2026
Proposed Budget no distractions -
tables only a budget from which
a resident very generously took her time to remove the pie
charts and distractions, leaving just the tables and
the essense of the budget . 113 pages
2026 Proposed Budget as posted the day AFTER the presentation
-- 146 pages and practially illegible in many places.
All documents were withheld again - as was done in prior years.
This time they were apparently withheld even from Comrs.
No one can follow along without the documents - nor prepare
questions in advance . And yes, it was posted on the 17th,
but if you read it between the 17th and 29th of October, you are
out of luck, because changes were made on the 29th with no way
to notify you. Nor was a list of changes prominently
posted on the Budget Homepage. Oh my.
2026
Proposed Budget 176 pages
with all tables,
graphs, pie charts, and the whole 9 yards
DATES: PROPOSED 2026 VOTE TO ADVERTIZE THE BUDGET 11-13-25 7PM

LOTS
OF TOM FOOLERY IN THIS BUDGET LIKE IN THE BUDGETS
PAST:
---
DOCUMENTS ARE AGAIN WITHHELD
EACH OCTOBER - so we miss the
entire first meeting as an opportunity to
get answers. understand confusing concepts ( which they seem to
confuse on purpose
---
the continued use of the
"open -gov" format that cannot be "skimmed" and
cannot be archived
More coming about htis budget . One resident was kind enough, on
her own time to make more easily viewable formatting - like we
are asking hte Township to make - But I won't be able to post
them before htis meeting ---
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEBACLE
THAT OUR BUDGET PROCESS HAS BECOME?
Manager
Richard Manfredi arrived in may of 2017 -- The
2018 budget was already underway -- but the 2019 budget was his
first great work of stolen transparency. All of his actions have
been supported by Tom Hecker and Matt Vahey who have taken over
the Board.
In 2019 he planned out a 30% tax increase - an
outrageous amount - far, far higher than any we had ever
received in Abington -- EVER. He planned the first third as a
"test" in 2020 -- and when he saw that no one really got too
upset with that - he planned to continue with part 2 .
But Covid hit us in 2020 -- and he held off part
2 until 2021 --- when we got the 2nd 20% increase, it was
a 27 % increase in our taxes . Add that to the nearly 10%
we just had and altogether you have a tax hike that is just a
little under 40% over a 3 year period. Insane. It allowed
Manfredi more than 3 million dollars over what any of his
predecessors were working with . And still the wants
and needs of the residents are being ignored, some even kept in
grave danger, while developers are welcomed with open arms.
The way wealth is transferred is on full display in Abington
Township. That hurts America - and all Abington residents and
taxpayers.
